old hdd in new build

1tb hdd 7200rpm. Ok my question is... Can I use this hdd that has my OS on my new build?

Of course the HD can be reformatted and reused.
Is the old HD & OS from an OEM (HP, Dell, Lenovo, Gateway, etc)?
Or is the OS a retail version for which you have the install media as well as product key code?

Yes it from an oem pc. I wanna kno if I can take it out and install it my new rig, and have windows 7 up and running. Sata connection btw.

Not legitimately.
The OS installed on an OEM system is tied to that specific PC.

odds are it won't bluescreen, but most likely it won't activate.

Thanks for the input. Since I dont want a bsod, ill be getting a Samsung 830 120gb ssd and Windows 7 pro 64 bit.
