I am starting to bring as many games as I can from my 360 to W8, the newest game I have for Windows 8 is BF4, I wanted to get Mass Effect 3 on W8 as well but I have a lot of DLC on my 360, does that mean I would have to re purchase it again or is there a way to link my Live account with Origin? (this is the first time ive used Origin)
I don't know how to add a signature (I was told to go under user CP but still cant find it)
My PC specs are:

AMD Phenom 1090t 6 core
Biostar 870 board
16 GB RAM 1600
2 TB HD
AMD Firepro V5800 (4 monitor support, as a poor man only have one)

EA has been linking Live accounts with Origin since Mirror's Edge. I'm pretty sure you'll still have to buy it all again. I could be wrong, and registering the game with Bioware could prove fruitful, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I believe that indeed you will have to purchase everything again. These companies make the campaigns for every platform separately and if nothing has changed they wont assist you with your endeavors.

thanks for the insight, I had a feeling that was the case, I dont mind paying for some of the DLC again it was worth it but it would be awesome if they said "oh hey you bought this for the PS3/360 already? well since you paid for the game AGAIN for PC here you can have your DLC to match you console version".....said no game company ever (I don't think at least)

The + side is if you just wait until the christmas sale, you can more than likely get all 3 for dirt cheap in some bundle sale (with dlcs).

Yeah, this is a good suggestion. Always wait for the sales if you are planning to buy more than one game. Or a game + many dlcs. Whenever i went and bought a game that i really wanted to play now, few days later steam sale and boom i could have saved a lot of dineros.

Keep that in mind.

Last I knew, no, owning Mass Effect DLC on the Xbox 360 does not transfer over to owning them on PC, no more than owning the Mass Effect games themselves on the 360 entitles you to get them for free on the PC.

Oh and regarding making a signature: Go to the top of this web page and click "User CP". Then under "Your control panel" click "Edit Signature". Type what you want in the box, and click "Save Signature". Simples.

XD. Well we always tend to learn it the hard way ;D

well this brings up another question:
So using Origin for the firt time when EA forced me to download it when I ran BF4, and I will download Steam later tonight- my question is:
What happens if say Origin or Steam for whatever un holy reason shut down? Do people lose their games? from my understanding theres no physical media sent to you (keep in mind the last "new" PC game I played in 2007 it was COD MW1) so this is kinda new to me.
And if you must know, then yes I do enjoy living under a rock :p

Presumably, barring the whole internet getting shut down, Valve and EA would be able to anticipate the service getting shut down and will release a patch that makes sure you can play all your games offline after that without having to authenticate again. But of course you wouldn't be able to re-download them ever again.

that's it :(

Hmm. You might have to reach a minimum post count of 50 or so before the forum will let you make a signature.

In this case it would not help. ME3 is not available on Steam (only ME1 and ME2). So you could not buy all three Mass Effect games on Steam.

and not only isnt ME3 on steam, the DLCs for (at least) ME2 cant be bought on steam.
If you NEED to play ME2 on steam you can buy the base game there and then you will need to buy the DLCs on the origin or bioware store and add them to your ME2 somehow. Then you can play it on steam with the dlcs

The key is to be involved everywhere, wherever you can expect a discount to occur have an account there. It is better to wait anyways since most of the games released today require some extensive patching to become what they are advertised as.

Hard to say, some DLCs (like items) once activated on one platform, you have access to on all platforms.

I bought Mass Effect 3. Have yet to play it still. Finished Mass Effect 2 earlier this year and moved back to the Assassin's Creed series. Finished Brotherhood and now I'm working my way through Revelations. I rarely ever play through a game right at release.
