No laughs here...but the attitude of both parties goes a long way towards a more civilized world.

I've seem people go ballistic over lesser slights.

I don't mind bikers that follow the rules, the ones that piss me off just want to take advantage when it suits them, then use the crosswalks or sidewalks too. Around here they'll bitch about "sharing" the road, but then they don't signal and ignore lights, claiming it doesn't apply to them.

Luckily one is hit every few weeks, keeps the others in line for a while.

Yeah, I'm fine with cyclists who abide by traffic laws; unfortunately, around campus here, I don't think most of the bikers even know what those laws are. I regularly see them blast through crosswalks, stop signs, and red lights without even pretending to so much as yield. Seems like they just assume the cars are going to stop for them. I'm honestly surprised more of them don't get run over.

How did the biker not see the guy coming or even try to avoid hitting him? Was he not paying attention going the wrong way down a street? What a dumb biker.

This. It could have been worse, the biker shoudn't have been going the wrong way and the guy should have used the crosswalk. Just move on people.

Did you even watch the fucking video? You'll know why it happens if you watch the video.

Fat guy is mostly to blame. He didn't look both ways before crossing. Sure, it's a one way street, but it's very possible people for people to come down the wrong way. (Accidents happen)

I guess it's just me but if I was biking down the wrong way of a street, I would be extra careful to look out for anything but that's just me.

I don't know, I think if a bicyclist (and I like riding a bike, but I obey road rules), hit me in such a stupid way, I think I'd have quick enough reflexes to make sure they hit the ground, too. Then it'd cancel out :p

The only way they would "hit the ground" in a situation like this is if you not only brace yourself for impact in no time but also push/hit back as the biker makes contact, unless you inadvertently happen to run into him head-on. I can only visualize this as being premeditated/deliberate on the pedestrian's part and of course that means physical assault. :hmm:

hahaha, good god you're an idiot.

"Suuuuurrrre" its just a one way street, no biggie. I thought us car drivers have to treat retard bikers like they are cars right? Well in that case this fucking idiot should have a massive ticket for driving the wrong way down the street and hitting a person.

I'm a bicycle advocate, and aholes like that cyclist pisses me off to no end.

Bicycle == vehicle and have to follow motorized vehicle laws.

Both parties are at fault in this case but the bicycle/vehicle is at a greater fault. The bicyclist is riding the wrong way (and/or grossly negligent due to not observing the law), and is negligent due to no being observant of obstacle/s in front of his path.

PS.

How many point do you earn for driving the wrong direction on a one-way street in the US?
Failed to observed and signs?
Failed to yield to the right-of-way?
Total costs == ?

Jay walking fines == ?

I just watched it again and what made me laugh was the thought that the biker clearly does not play enough video games.

It was obvious that someone was going to pop out from behind that car.

"carry on"

:awe: :awe:

lulz had, this is awesome.

this is basically the two worst things we have to deal with in Berzerkely--entitled oblivious bikers + entitled oblivious pedestrians-clashing. Wish there was mroe of this.

seriously, though...this is much worse than the psycho hippies and smelly bums that live here. (smelly bums are a large percentage of the entitled pedestrian crowd, of course.)

Yeah, you're completely wrong on that one. I think it's perfectly reasonable for a pedestrian to assume that vehicles are going down the road in the legal direction. Saying it's his fault is like saying somebody that it's the fault of a car that got hit when an idiot ran a red light. Or in words that you can understand, it's like somebody going 80 in a 55, rear ending a car that they didn't see when they came around a turn and then blaming the person that got hit.
