Old CPU question

Just curious; which board revision is your BH6? I have myself 1.02 (last "SS" BIOS - 2000/07/06) and wonder if I could do the same...
thx

thx oldfart,

so pretty much any PIII/Celeron with 100MHz FSB? I noticed you have BH6 with 1000MHz CPU, nice... I was checking ABIT site some time ago for CPU compatibility, and they stopped official support somewhere around 600-700 MHz. On the other hand, I myself own Dell 440BX based laptop, and it uses PIII 850MHz (100MHz fsb), so I guess you 're right.

thx for links, good upgrade

Hi Oldfart--I have a BH6 and an Aopen AX6B with P 850s and they work fine. I was wondering about putting in a PIII 1000 slot 1--I have one from a junked board. My concern it that it might fry my BH6. Do you have first hand experince with the 1GHz and the BH6?? The adapter and a Celeron T 1400 might be better. Both the Celeron and the P1GHz are about the same price ~$100 shipped. The BH6 is a nice board, and I don't want to destroy it. I doubt that there would be a great performance difference between the P850 and the P1000 or the C1400 in "Office type " apps. Thanks. R
