i had a spindle of cd's that i burned about 2 years ago and they've been sitting on the spindle in my closet ever since. they were the cheep noname ones from compusa that sold for $20 for 100 cd's. i tool them out last week to get some old mp3's i had on them and no the top layer is flakeing off and there useless. they were blank with no label or coating on them. if you put one of those white cdr labels on them will it keep this from happening? i now use some pny cd's that have a clear label on them, will that keep this from happening. what is the best media to get and the best way to store it to keep them useable a couple years down the line?
