Just blended a ghetto margaritta with some tequilla that's been sitting in my cupboard for ~12 years.

Other than some lost effectiveness, could there be anything wrong with it?

edit2: it was opened about 12 years ago, but about 80% full.

It tastes fine as far as I can tell. We'll see in about 20 minutes if it has any alchohol left in it.

edit: it actually tastes pretty decent...
Ghetto margaritta recipe:
2 shots tequilla, lots of ice, 2 shots lemonade, 2 moderatly heaping Tablespoons powdered lemonade

Evaporation will occur, but nothing too bad. Watch out for anything with low alcohol content & a bunch of sweet stuff, like alize or amaretto. Those get all gooey & eventually harden. We had a bunch of those little mini bottles laying around over the years. A good portion of them(all sealed) were half gone within 10 years. We've also had regular sized bottles with there tops broken off for a good long time, just sit in the back room shelf & barely notice anything gone.

It's probably fine as long as it wasn't sitting out in the sun or in a very hot place.

Is that a World Record for an open tequila bottle to last 12 years?

I think as long as it's just alcohol it would be fine.. but not something like Bailey's Irish Cream.
