old booze... can anything go wrong with it?

Just blended a ghetto margaritta with some tequilla that's been sitting in my cupboard for ~12 years.

Other than some lost effectiveness, could there be anything wrong with it?

edit2: it was opened about 12 years ago, but about 80% full.

It tastes fine as far as I can tell. We'll see in about 20 minutes if it has any alchohol left in it.

edit: it actually tastes pretty decent...
Ghetto margaritta recipe:
2 shots tequilla, lots of ice, 2 shots lemonade, 2 moderatly heaping Tablespoons powdered lemonade

I think it juz gets a little stronger with age but ive never heard of tequila goin bad.. .. or any other liquor for that matter.. ..

Evaporation will occur, but nothing too bad. Watch out for anything with low alcohol content & a bunch of sweet stuff, like alize or amaretto. Those get all gooey & eventually harden. We had a bunch of those little mini bottles laying around over the years. A good portion of them(all sealed) were half gone within 10 years. We've also had regular sized bottles with there tops broken off for a good long time, just sit in the back room shelf & barely notice anything gone.
