Old and new logos of companies..good, bad, ugly?

Google's old logo is synonymous with the internet to many who use its products. Its new logo isn't much different (the 'g' and the 'l' have been moved ever so slightly to the right).

why?

the top of the lowercase 'g' and bottom of the 'l' were not aligned with the rest of the letters in the old logo.

So, basically Google made their logo easier to counterfeit?

Most of them are simplified. That tends to make them more generic-looking to me.

Bacardi, WWE, and airbnb are good changes. Most of the rest are worse or not really that different.

Penguin Random House was much better before. Their company name is a jumble of unrelated words, so having the pictures there at least makes it funny.

Olive Garden looks like it should be Asian Garden now.
