And how is this perception of yours not merely just a function of your bias?

I know, and practically everyone else on these forums know when a lie is being told. It's just a matter of whether the lie works for you or against you that makes the difference if you support it or not. I try to be as objective as I can, and when proven wrong with facts and supporting documentaion I will acknowledge it, learn from it and move on. I'm not afraid to admit that I'm wrong and then apologize for any misunderstanding or inconvenience it caused because it gets in the way of arriving at the facts of a matter.

It doesn't hurt that I'm a parent for one thing, and that as a former production manager part of my job included handling job and promotion interviews, evaluation and performance reviews, settling disputes, attending labor board arbitrations, hiring and firing personnel, etc. and being required to attend handwriting and body language seminars to pick out the truth in any statement that comes my way. Being objective and having a healthy dose of humility was a way of life then.😉

edit - Besides how entertaining P&N always is, I visit these forums to find out what's really going on, and, from discarding the junk from the truth, it gives me a pretty good idea, along with what I see on some other political forums.

You just think that because you agree with them. You are biased.

Well, all I can say to that is I think your own biases/agenda makes you feel that way.😛

Hannity and Limbaugh are biased and stupid. Maddow and Olbermann are biased and stupid. I can admit it, for some reason you only think one side is biased and stupid.

LOL @ commondreams nonsense. The author's hypothesis assumes that Fox and all those evil rightwinger hosts have so much sway over their viewers. Sway the Left wishes it had.

The implied arrogance in the fact that the Left thinks that viewers are so stupid that they actually need a channel like Fox in the first place to help "shape" their political views is where they go off the rails in the first place. The unpleasant-for-some fact is that this country is center-right in its views overall and likely listens because they AGREE with their host's views more than they disagree!

For the record, I rarely watch TV and have a job that occupies 60hrs/wk so I rarely see or hear any of those ass-clowns anyway. That said, I agree waaaaay more with the political philosophy of the right than the left, but still there is nothing any host on TV, right or left, is likely to say that is going to change my ingrained philosophy at all.

So all you Lefties...quit calling viewers that don't agree with you as clueless idiots. Your ratings suck because the majority of citizens in this country simply don't agree with your progressive ideas.

Don't worry about Olbermann, he is already re-employed.

Murdock, who's pretty liberal (big Hillary supporter), looked at US media to see what wide-spread viewpoints were not being served. He had previously done the same with British media and made boatloads of money. Progressives don't understand that; they think the right wing opinion media issues marching orders rather than echoing what is already believed. This is why left wing ideologues fail at talk radio and political talk TV, they simply misunderstand the dynamic and, issuing far left marching orders, doom themselves to marginalization. Also, the MSNBC potential audience is far smaller than the Fox News potential audience because center-left people have far more choices than do center-right people when it comes to opinion news shows.

I suspect someone at MSNBC or perhaps Comcast gets it and is attempting to remain left wing, but not so foaming moonbat asshat left wing, to carve out a position to the left of ABC/CBS/CNN/NBC but still to the right of Trotsky and Lenin, in an attempt to gain audience share. I can't see them matching Fox - simply too much left wing competition - but I can see them gaining some.

Or it might just be Olbermann personally - who wants to deal with such a wretched P.O.S. if you don't absolutely have to?
