It's like I took the weekend off from ATOT only to come back to people getting banned for mentioning this guy/linking the video. WTF is the big deal? It's just a famous Eighties hit!

Rickrolling is a great way to earn a few days off
Rickrolling to the annoying site that can't be closed is an even better way to earn a week or more off.

What gets me is that people link to the Youtube video instead of the website (the internet is serious business) that uses all kinds of crazy javascript to make the window jump around. What's the big deal about a Youtube link? I can close it before the song even starts if I don't want to hear it; but it's a great song.

I didn't understand the big deal to the youtube links, I was like "whoopie" but then I was pointed to the javascript site version where it moves the window around the screen and has pop up boxes with the lyrics (1 line each box) and closing out of it, is difficult to say the least. Clicking on the X does nothing. That annoyed me, the song wasn't even so bad it was the fact it kept going. And if you run Firefox, when I finally C+A+D'ed out of it. When I reloaded I accidentally hit the "restore last pages" button and BOOM Rick was back on my screen. I laughed, but it was pretty damn annoying.

the song itself ain't that bad, just cheesy.

It's basically another random internet meme. Wouldn't be surprised if it developed on 4chan.

It was a hit and not a bad song - but too many people link it to a video that isn't what they claim it to be....

such as: oh, my god - here's a link to a video of a Natalie Portman sex vid...

Now add a few thousand more people doing that over and over again...

I actually enjoy the song. But it is mostly the dissapointment of a false link that annoys people...

I clicked on the wiki link to rick roll, and wound up at an article on sound and unsound logic.
