Okay to eat?

I have a dozen or so eggs that expired 1/8. Should I throw them out? Is there some way to check if they're still good?

1/8!?! If you don't mind getting sick sure. Eggs are one of those foods I wouldn't push too far. They aren't like milk, bread or cheese where you know almost right away if they are good to go or not.

Eggs are dirt cheap compared to food poisoning. (which I just had the pleasure of having :disgust🙂

THROW OUT!!!

Take the egg, place it in your palm horizontally. Squeeze your hand shut, trying to crush the egg.

If it breaks, well, that'd be weird, cause I think it almost physically impossible.

My advice to anybody that isn't sure if they should eat someting or not is: That which doesn't kill you...may just make you have the runs. Drink plenty of liquids.

The eggs are most likely fine. The number of uninformed food phobics on ATOT is legendary. Da Chef has spoken so, let it be written so, let it be done.

Agreed. Crack em and if they smell, don't eat.
We don't even keep eggs in the egg crate, just in the fridge's egg dish. I couldn't even tell you when our eggs are supposed to "expire." Been doing it that way for years and we're still here.
