For $8, you get TWO accounts (ie, host two seperate domains). Accounts include 330MB disk space and 18GB/mo of bandwidth - along with all the other goodies...

I'm buyin, but starting to wonder...

Also - they claim that after tonight, all accounts will have setup fee's associated with them - and, they're going to structure their accounts for "monthly", rather than "yearly" prices - whatever sense that makes.

I am very weary of a company that offers such mad cheap hosting. I am in need hosting but I just don't trust it. $8 a year?! Sure hosting has gotten cheaper but that is extreme. With that kinda deals they won't be in business much longer.

their company is supposed to be in Maine but the business registry there never heard of them

just be wary.

Two different camps on that question, IMHO it seems a bit scammy, but they've been around a long time and have MANY happy customers...

Here's the sales:

I think they are preying on people who like cheap hosting but have no intentions of using it. (like me)

so if I want to join, do I just paypal sales@cyberwings.com the money and expect an email from them? The link does not state the exact amount to pay, is there a place on cyberwings to confirm the dollar amount? Thanks.

edit: nevermind my question. I think I found the answer. Thanks

It depends on what sort of account your getting-at any rate you'll need to fill out a form on their website after paying/before you get any email from them....
I have a lifetime reseller account and an individual yearly with them, If I get 2 months of webhosting out of them I will have gotten back the money I spent....If they do finally change their sale structure I will give them muchos props...so far very happy....

sat in the chat and according to shawn they run on both AMD XP 1800+ servers with 1GB ram and also p4 servers coming, and that they installed 5 servers this month. expensive eh?

servers + bandwith + employee salaries, hope they stay in business or else i'll have to track that shawn guy down to the bahamas, to get my $3.90 back!!

j/k
they better stay in business so that i wont have to find one of those hosts that actually charges monthly

This should cover today's sales...

I finally jumped in too - guess I better get around to trying to get a web site set up. This is mostly practice for me, so if it folds, who cares? I'm only out $4.00. I tend to agree with the other people who think that they are just trying to grab market share though. The switch to monthly pricing and setup fees point towards that.

:| Those F@CKERS misspelled my Domain Name and charged my checking account. I've e-mailed them about a dozen times and still nothing. Is there anyone I can complain to?

I ordered an account with CW on may 01 (paid by credit card, and they already charged me on may2), I sent them some Emails...trying to set it up my account. I got an email from them that telling me to be patient...but now june 20......come on now...how long that i have to wait...i also sent them an email to cancel it. but guess what guys.... i don't hear nothing from them. I know $3.99 is seemed like nothing to some..but 100, 1000, 10000 people and more...hmmmm do the math guys. if they real, they will put all the cheap accounts on one server (share server and bandwidth)...must be slow...just my 2 cents....after all..you got what you paid for.

There's current;y a 1/2 price zap special on 5+ accounts...so you'd pay like 12.50 to zap all of them to some extreme amount of storage and bandwidth...also, there is a new account being created for Saturday (I11 - 750mb of space, 40gb transfer)...

Yes, it is an incredible deal. It just started not too long ago and will end the 24th. goto the cyberwings web page, and up on the top you'l see the birthday sale. Its really worth it, IMHO.

I went over to CNet and they had a link to a site that runs load test on websites (free) and did a check on one of my sites that's hosted by Cyberwings and the results were pretty good. It took them almost a month to set my sites up but I'm pretty happy with them so far. In fact, I just jumped on their half price 5X zap for 5 or more accounts.....hope they stay in business at least for another four months then I got my money's worth. Just my .02.....

Did the CEO ever post his article of incorporation online? He said he was going to post it online so we can verify it. Any one care to comment on that?

I gave them the 10 days they stated and then emailed.

Account was setup the next day.

For anyone that does scripting...if ANY of your scripts reference your home directory (Fully qualified)...use a simple
phpinfo call in a blank html doc to find out what it is. I tried using what was on my information sheet...wrong answer.

My 2 pennies...other than that so far so good.
