I'm drowning in debt. CC, mortgage, LOC, car loan, student loans, etc... It's the American way. Just ask the US Govt.

I use one of those Checking account cards (debit card with the Mastercard of Visa logo) so it takes the money away from me right away. I refuse to use a credit card unless its an emergency since I'm a college student and am $40,000 in debt and have another $40,000 more to be in debt before i get my degree (is college a scam?).... Needless to say I don't have the latest or greatest...but middle of the road stuff when I can afford it.

Right now my credit bill is near $1,000...and that was for a rig I built last year (for the 'rents). Now I'm looking at another $1,000 for my new rig.

Do any of you guys actually save up money or do you pull out the plastic to grab the latest and greatest video card?

Buy it piecemeal. If it's over $300 split the cost.

Don't like credit, the interest is a thief. :|

I used to buy everything with credit until I stop being responsible. I racked up over 5k in debt and had nothing to show for it. I'll never charge another thing in my life unless I can pay for it within the next week or two of charging it. Interest > *
