I need to get a hold of some of this. I love them because they slam the notion that all american beer sucks and is weak.

nah, just because the big 3 put out crap doesn't mean all american beer sucks.
AleSmith, Rogue, Dogfishhead, Marin County, Lost Coast are excellent microbreweries.

I love their beer and I love Trippels! I have GOT to try this beer! Thanks for telling me about it! Don't know if I can wait to 2012 though!

Does anyone know where I can buy some good beer near downtown L.A.? I'm going to a dinner party tomorrow night and would like to bring some along.

there's a Bevmo in South Pasadena. you can find more than good beer there 🙂

I will definitely go out and buy numerous bottles of this tomorrow. Thanks for bringing it up; I was planning to wait until 7/7/7.

They've been out for two weeks, give or take a few days. It kills the whole idea really. We still don't expect them around here for another couple days though.

Yea I know about that Bevmo - just wondering what beers to get? Not sure what they carry.

I had a beer from Lost Coast and loved it--the downtown brown at the Yardhouse in Glenview.

I think so too. I guess Sales Revenue > Product Image.

thanks for the heads up andylaw! cant believe i almost forgot about this! ill have to make it a point to stop by there sometime this week.

I ran down to the Bevmo and just randomly picked Three Philosophers - it was damn good. Everyone loved it (including the females who don't usually like beer).

I looked at the places that have the vertical epic stuff and there is one right here in downtown l.a. about four blocks away. I'll have to run down to pick some up.

ya, quite a few people like the 3 Philosophers.

I just had the 070707 last night. It's another Belgian Ale (the last 2 were too, 05 and 06). I am not a big fan of Belgian stuff; so I didn't like it that much. It was a bit too sweet for my taste. after the 07, I proceed to get drunk by the Arrogant Bastard. 🙂

Just tried it yesterday. Good stuff, a nice summer brew. I don't think I could keep it around until the close of 2012 to do a vertical though.

I've still got a bottle of the 6.6.6, but I don't think it's going to last much longer at all... Hopefully a bottle of the 7.7.7 can last that long.

i was shut out friday night (makes sense, it being 7.6.07 and all...) but i was hoping that perhaps they might've jumped the gun a bit. they did mention it was being bottled and sold in their store but there was no dice on getting it from the tap (yet!). but i should be back there later this week and ill try and catch it then.
