Alabama, with State Farm, you do... Some are "preferred", and its a lot easier to go with them, but you can go with any..

In South Carolina...you can get three quotes...lowest quote gets it

You get your estimate done at an authorized repair shop (so they can lowball the estimate) but get it repaired at the shop of your choice. Getting more money out them depends on how respectable the insurance company is (don't expect much from discount insurance firms)
