Theoretically it should just be AOT, but ATOT sounds good because it's more symmetric and rhythmical.

Here's a question:

Do you pronounce ATOT with a long A sound or a short A sound?

Anandtech is one word. It may be a combination of two words, but it's still one word.

Lucky Guess?

I am not saying that is how it is for sure, but logically, to be 'unique' so as others do not copy the name logo, using that 'A' as well as the word and and tech, with select kerning, makes for a unique name logotype.

stebe....you're a little off. The owner of the site's name is Anand. Hence AnandTech. No kerning involved here chief.
