Okay, got new 8500 but 2D is crap

Installed latest 3286 driver and got a cool 7938 3Dmark score but don't care about that.
Text quality is bad. I have a very good monitor and first tried 1280 by 760 resolution but that was useless. I know my monitor can handle it (Iiyama VisionMaster Pro 451).
I am now running 1152 by 864 res and text is bad.
I am using Windows XP.
How do you find out your clock speeds anyway???
Also I think the text is shadowed, how do you turn this off please???

Try some less obscure resolutions, e.g. 1024x768, 1280x1024.
I don't think radeons can do those, well, weird resolutions very well.

Try 1280x1024 instead of 1280x768 (very weird, looks crappy on my Radeon too). As for 1154... not sure why... lol
