So here?s the thing. When you cook asparagus, is there anything you can do with the ends that you break off. Any recipes? Or just give em a toss?

Chuck 'em unless you want to marinate them long enough to make them tender. It's pretty much like eating a twig off a maple tree otherwise. ;)

EDIT- I try to buy smaller/younger asparagus if I can help it. You waste less of it that way.

i don't think a vegetable stock would be a good idea...

however.......you can minimize the amount of the asparagus you throw away by using a peeler
on the stem..you get down to the whitish part and it's all good to eat!
now the trick is you have to peel them gently, because they'll break easily when you start peeling them. put down on the counter and peel gently.
