I had to struggle to return everything back to normal. Everything would hang every 2 seconds and then after a few hangs, it would restart. Anybody else experienced that? was it the VP or was it the pipes that would cause it? I did try to unlock both at once, has anyone had the same problem? is this an indication of pipes being bad or was it the VP, I'd try the pipes only again, only if people here have input on his dilemma..
 
not sure about your situation but when I tried to unlock both on my 6800 the comp would freeze up whenever it had to fade something in or out (such as the start menu). your 6800 has broken pipes, but you can try one at a time if you want to see if one of the two works.
 
ALso, interesting to note that the disabled pipe is # 2 instead of the normal #3 from everybody else, kinda brings my hope down a bit, I'll try to do it one by one, but I'll do it later when my new HD arrives.
