ur halflife didnt install the pak0.pak..the biggest file ever needed in halflife...or cs retail i guess?
but when u installed it it got messed somehow that it skipped that file, mabey bad cd...but what i had to do is just download the iso from a warez ftp, but thats ok since i own the game

MAKE SURE IF YOU HAVE CS RETAIL THAT YOU DOWNLOADED THE RETAIL PATCH, NOT THE DOWNLOADED VERSION PATCH, OR VICE VERSA!!!
