I don't know about other places, but they already have flippin' Christmas stuff out in the aisles in stores here! :Q

Christmas lights,fake trees, ornaments... WTF?

It's not even Halloween yet! What happened to rolling all that stuff out after Thanksgiving?

I guess they figure if they put it out, people will buy? lol..

They all want to sell stuff before the other guy does.

Some people have a tradition of decorating on or the day after Thanksgiving. They might wanna get everything they need before then. Setting up everything early means that they have time to work with their store layout.

Besides, in about 5 days, halloween stuff is going to be on clearance.

But yeah, it's ridiculous.

I know.. but it just seems so weird. There are Halloween decorations, and Christmas decorations up in the store I'm referring to, but no Thanksgiving decorations.

It just seems bizzare.

But yeah I can't wait until Halloween candy goes on sale. :D

I heard Financial Analysts saying this will probably be the weakest Christmas in years for Retailers. If I were a retailer I'd start early too:)

The vast majority of people do NOT decorate for thanksgiving. Which explains why most stores dont really ever sell thanksgiving decorations.

They look at their sales figures for the year, and notice that they see profits in the area of Christmas decorations. Why limit those profits to 30 days of the year, when you can sell it for 90 days?

I don't have a problem with it. It just reminds me how close we are to Christmas. I'll wait before I buy any of it, but it doesn't upset me. I'm just used to stores starting to put stuff out in early October. Then they really pour it on after Halloween. I like that too. When you're a Christmas freak like me, you need time to plan. I like to be all decked out the day after Thanksgiving, which means you have to shop before that.

I was looking at all the christmas lights..

I wonder how much the average persons electric bill goes up around Christmas time?

Even those little mini-lights use ~120mA each, and that's for the Energy Conserving ones.. the normal ones burn 200mA each. :Q

I guess that doesen't seem like much, but times that by hundreds.. and you're looking at some pretty significant kWh, especially if they're on 24/7.

Part of it has to do with the fact that reorganizing part of the store and putting up the new merchendise for Christmas can take a very long time. Better to get an early start and make sure the items are there for Christmas then wait and lose sales when you don't have all your merchendise out. I work in a hardware store and we've been putting stuff out for 2 weeks. I spent most of yesterday pricing lightbulbs. Fun.

To get money :D

I don't really care about the Christmas stuff itself, but it seems to bring out the worst in people. Go to a store a couple days before Christmas and there will be people running around through the isles not watching where they're going, staring at the ceiling, just randomly stopping in the middle of the isle for no apparent reason at all, and just basically being a bunch of inbred freaks. As soon as the Christmas stuff comes out it starts, and it doesn't matter how early either. Hell is other people :disgust:
