ok im fixing my friends computer. he has an asus a7v with a tbird 1ghz and 256 mb ram. anyways after the computer detects the drives and stuff it just hangs there and it wont load off my boot disk. it just hangs there and there is a flashing cursor in the top left of the screen. whats going on???

check jumpers, check to make sure that its detecting the drives EXACTLY as they are sposed to be. if not, go to good old vid card processor and ram, and work your way up from there. also, you say boot disk.. do u mean win98/me startup disk on a floppy? if so make sure in bios u have the first startup as floppy. Also, check to see whether its the disk that might be bad, or the floppy.
