It's IE6 SP1 with the latest patches (and it was like this before today's 5 critical updates)... and it only started happening in the last week. (Don't tell me to use another browser - I mix IE and Firefox).

Tried clearing cache/cookies... to no avail.

page refreshes randomly make it work.

sorry i'm not going to "show image" just for that... but it gets annoying.

Also you might try changing the settings for temp internet files as for when it checks for new versions of the pages you load. For a while I had mine set to "every time" and it did what your browser is doing. Back to "automatic" seems to have fixed it.

my work computer does that. I thought it was a win2k thing.

It's soooooo annoying. You have to refresh about 3+ times before the image loads. I feel your pain

Any change you are using a wireless connection? Sometimes it happens to me, but only when I am on a wireless connection...

nope not on wireless... and on the same Linksys router I've been on since a few years ago. I did recently downgrade to a latest-1 firmware to resolve a disconnect issue... hmm...

Can't really be a server issue if Firefox is ok with it. Maybe IE bails out too early...

Re-install Java.
Hit CTRL+F5.
Try another browser ONLY to see if it happens there too.

Java for ?
I know a refresh fixes it... but it's bothersome for such a little detail
I did try Firefox and it's ok.

Probably because firefox has problems with quite a few pages. It doesn't work right on some pages so I end up having to use IE. I like firefox and it's features but they still have a lot of work to do on it.

I'm not against Firefox. It's just not as convenient for me as IE is because it doesn't support Yahoo Companion and I use a lot of Yahoo's features... briefcase, bookmarks, calendar, mail, popup blocker.
