So I have about 500 cores on WCG and my daily number is about 300k. The last 2 days, Zipspeed, biodoc and "the great cornholio" have been doing over a million a day ! what have I been missing ?

The GPU tasks that are currently available are a lot more PPD than the CPU tasks. There are more GPU tasks available currently than there had been previously. I had fairly close to the same points as you did today on WCG, and that's from a few Raspberry Pi's, and then a 750ti, and a 980ti(the 980ti wasn't even running all day), so GPU's make a huge difference.

Open pandemics put out a limited set of GPU work. Likely they had a bunch of Gpu on it.

Ahhh GPU work.... I had to turn off 5 of my computers, and 10 of my video cards, as its too hot. And this will probably continue all year.
I guess the days of me being 1st on WCG are over. F@H I already lost to Pokey, Rosetta is my last hope......

Really interesting. I was wondering about the output of said TeAm members too. Wow, what a huge impact this GPU work has... I'll have to try that too.

@biodoc, what is the cadence of GPU WUs? Enough to fully utilize your GPUs all the time or do you have to run other stuff in parallel? And do you need to set some threads aside (like in F@h)?

I'm running 1 task per GPU. My understanding is each task is composed of multiple compounds and each compound is "docked" to the protein target sequentially. The output of nvtop shows this nicely I think. I believe each peak is an individual autodock run.

It was 89f in the house today, even with the AC

Ouch! I fear summer, with my mining rigs. I can't run the A/C and all of the mining rigs at the same time, not enough circuits in my place to safely do so. So I rely on an exhaust fan, and an open window on the opposite side of the apt.

This is where you need to upgrade all of the video cards to 3080 tis, right? Assuming they could actually be purchased on release anyway...

I tried to put my 3070 on this project. I changed my global profile to YES on video card, and YES on Nvidia. Then on the local machine, I said "use gpu always" and then read local proefs and read config files. Nothing, no tasks. (that I can see) How would I know ? and did I miss something ? do you have to select beta ?

Yup, everything but Africa and TB. And both default and home device profiles have the video card selects and YES for Nvidia.

Wait, I have an open task that will finish in 4 minutes, maybe I just don't know how to identify them ? I have 3 in the 15-20 minute range, the rest are one hour. Just this one outlier at 4 minutes.

Edit: stupid me, looking at the time to finish. They are all like an hour or so, 3900x

Any advice on windows WCG settings for adding the GPU? I have a CPU now fluctuating wildly around 40 to 60% and the GPU working, but sometimes fluctuates also...

O.k. it's been like 3 minutes! Anyone? :) I took the afternoon off and should be doing other things! Wife is going to be upset, but should someone really do DISHES, when the hardware is underperforming :)

O.k.k. I am now scared for my home life at 11 minutes in :) . Hopefully can research later on how to balance out cpu / gpu tasks :) Help if possible. Windows 10 machine here.

The WCG OP GPU tasks are very up and down affairs something about how auto dock works. Apparently setting most GPUs to run 2 tasks at once keeps them mostly busy.

Is that a windows or linux machine? If it's linux, you'll need the OpenCL libraries:

sudo apt install ocl-icd-libopencl1
sudo apt install ocl-icd-opencl-dev
The same box (linux) was running F@H, does that require them ? I will try this anyway,.

Edit: its says they are already at that level, 0 upgraded.

OK, I clicked "opt into new projects as they become availablre" and then read prefs. Its now doing a OPNG1 task ! on a 3070 !

Edit: its going to take about 5 minutes, is that good ?

I just looked at the WCG stats. Yesterday I did over a million. BOINCTasks is not showing these units for some reason, its been working apparently since yesterday.
