So, i was on my way out of the shower and I hear the doorbell ring. I thought it was the UPS guy b/c I am waiting for a package so I just answered the door bell. After, I quickly put on my shorts and looked down the stairs ( i live on the 4th floor). I hear some rustling on the door so I go put on a shirt and run down stairs and I see that someone broke one of the windows in the door way. I am kind of spooked now....I almost let some stranger in (assuming he is not in now)....

I learned my lesson....there is an intercom for a reason......

So what happened next? Did you go hide under the bed? Call the police? Grab your home defense AK-47 and pop a few dozen caps in his ass?

I called the police and the landlord right after....

the police have not come yet (I have waited about 30 minutes)

the landlord just shrugged it off and said, " I think somoene forgot their keys".

I would start looking for another place to live.

Criminals often buzz units to see if someone will answer and let them in. That buzzer system is there for the protection of the tenants.

A landlord that doesn't seem concerned about a potential break-in is not someone I want to rent a unit from.

So he rang your doorbell to let you know he was breaking in?

testing the waters before diving in

aka. the supposed robber was an amateur.

What made him decide to leave?

is indeed interesting.. considering he apparently tried to further break in AFTER the intercom was used?
robber wasn't an amateur, but a complete idiot lol
