Ok what the hell is happening to Jason Giambi??

i never liked him, even his first yr here and i felt he overpaid for him... and he wasn't a proven tough guy... and felt though he hit for .300 he would strike out too much, he didn't seem like a 'natural' .300 hitter.

tonight he hit a 2 run shot to win it in the 10th..

i was surprised, though Yankee stadium' right field is 'short'... he crushed it in the triple deck.

i was surprised he had that kind of power to hit that kind of bomb....

would help if i watch him in BP regularly....

i remember when he used to hit during the home run derby... they were all these bombs he'd be able to make.

It's not the fact that he got off the steroids. Steroids do not make you hit the ball more, they make you hit the ball farther. They don't make your swing quicker, they make your swing stronger. He's not catching up to fastballs, his swing has slowed down. I'm not expert, this is just what I've heard being said.

As I understand it, steroids are an all-around experience, not just a muscle growth aid. Users report feeling great, very upbeat and such, and disappointment when ending a cycle. He may simply be feeling depressed, it might be mental. I don't think it's that he's not catching up to fastballs so much as he's not even bothering to swing at them, or really much of anything else (unless they're way out of the strike zone). I've never seen someone strike out looking or swing at balls so much.
