you will get a EVER SO SLIGHTLY improved picture with the DVI cord but you really need to look hard to notice. I just use the Component with mine since I only have one DVI in and I now use that for the DVD player.

I personally cannot tell the difference between component, DVI or HDMI coming from a set top box.

Not until you watch it in 1080i or 720p materials in a good quality HD display and it's almost day and night.

my dad uses component on his philips hdtv, and on a INHD 1080i broadcast i cant tell any difference between the 37" sharp aquos lcd in the living room(using dvi), we compared side by side when the aquos was just bought. An lcd is of course more vibrant but thats not because of the hookup.
