If not, what are some suggestions to make the crust crispier after you get a take out pizza? I should know this, but sadly I don't. Is it okay to put the box in the oven?

Would you put any other cardboard/paper products in the oven? No? Well then I don't think this is a good idea.

Just put it on the rack or on a cookie sheet/pizza pan. Just heating it in the oven will crisp it up.

My parents would heat the oven a little, turn it off, and place it in the oven to keep it warm.. but certainly not to heat the pizza up or make it crispier.

For day old pizza with lots of veggies (that make it soggy) I will heat slices on foil in the oven and then crisp the bottom on an iron skillet on the stove top.

Nope. My roommate's friend was over late one night and decided to heat up a Red Baron pizza. He removes it from the box, puts pizza on top of box, and places into oven. Shortly later, smoke starts coming out of the oven. The kitchen smoke detector is wired together with all the other smoke detectors in the home. 4 other people wake up, 1 person beats the guy with the pizza box from the oven for his stupidity.

it'll be fine on a low setting. Just don't crank the oven up to 450 or set it to 'broil', then you'll have some issues.
