ok, this is really grating on a nerve

OutHouse

Lifer
so my daughter is reciting her part in the "holiday play" coming up soon. The ending caused my wife, me and my wifes friend start looking at each other wondering if what we heard was correct.

here is the play

Student 1: Ok, now fill me in on those little paper bags. They Intrigue me what's this all about?

Student 2: Back in the 16th Century Spanish people began celebrating Christmas by reenacting Mary and Joseph's search for a room at an in -- or Posada* in Bethlehem

Student 3: This hispanic tradition has evolved into quite an event, as guest go from house to house asking for place to stay. (<<my kids part)

Student 4: They are turned away, just as Mary and Joseph were. More guests join in the search, and are turned away again.

Student 5: But finally they come toa home were the pathway is lit by "luminarieas" -- those little candles in bags, held down by a bit of sand inside. In this house they are welcome.

Student 6: Is that were the pinata come in?

student 7: Yes, thats when the singing, dancing and celebration begins.

Student 8: Well, we've learned a lot about traditions of, La Fiesta de la Posada and Kwanzaa. Here's a test -- what do you think of when I say the word Christmas?

WTF!!!! what about German Christmas traditions? Sweede Christmas traditions? or God forbid American Christmas traditions.

What do you expect? Most instituions of learning (brainwashing these days) are run by liberals with a very evil agenda.

You can't celebrate EVER tradition at the same time, get over it.

That's why we need to eliminate those "other" traditions. It's time for a new reign of terror the likes of which the world as never seen. "We" must show "them" that there can be no coexistance.

Or not. I'm up for whatever.

Cool! I love hot air balloons. Is it Santa Fe or Albuquerque where the guys dressed like santa claus ski down the mountain with a torch and light the first luminarias? I always thought that was cool...spent a lot of holidays in NM. Beautiful state.

the schools should stick to history math and science

Yeah! They should be busy trying to calculate how much velocity is needed by 12 reindeer to keep a 1 ton sleigh aloft.....while another train travels 60mph in the opposite direction....

Perhaps the teacher wanted to teach the kids about something they weren't familiar with? Ya know, that learning thing? 🙂

Why look at this as a bad thing? Your kid already knows all about your family's Christmas tradition. In my opinion your looking at it in the wrong light. Being open to difference is a good thing sometimes.

WTF kind of play is that? When I was in kindergarden our plays were better.
