Is that ok? Its a good debate that was starting to get some interesting points. Yes,theres always gonna be losers with nothing to bring to the table but, "get out then" and "the guys a troll"

I'm not a troll. I used to spend a lot of time in the hardware forums here last year, and I'm sad to see that one has to pay to take advantage of ones broad band connection. Whats to stop every site from capping your bandwidth till ya pay?

Hey, if I'm the only one that feels this way, then it must be me.

I'll let it die.

Your not alone, if everybody goes to a pay service the Internet will no longer be useful IMO.

FYI this thread will be locked too.

Usually I wait 10 seconds at most for the pages to load. But then I uses tabs and open multiple pages at the same time.

nothing... just the threat of losing visitors. they have to make money somehow, so it's not like they're just going to jack the prices up unreasonably.

I agree with him that the people in General Hardware/Distributed Computing are probably getting
shafted because of the people in Off Topic and Hot Deals (mainly lurkeres there)

The forums are painfully slow and not everyone can afford to subscribe either, although that is always the reply. Some people can barely afford there cable/dsl bill plus telephone.

I'm not sure the problem is bandwidth though, it might be that the software or servers just can't get the job done, with 90,000 people I'm sure everything is getting pushed to the max.

If that's the case, the Subscriber server wouldn't be any faster.

There are bandwidth caps on the regular forum servers. There are no bandwidth caps on the subscriber forum servers.

Simple as that.
