notice how they blacked it out when he laughed???? it's to cover up his BROKE-ASS J 😀

Carmelo Anthony = ROTY.

I liked the commerical 🙂 then again I'm a king's fan so all those kings faces in there had something to do with it.

It would have been a lot better of a commercial if it took into account the 24 second shot clock and instead had him do a perfect form 3 in the defender's face as the clock winded down. He must have held the ball for about 28 seconds of the 30 second commercial.
well said.

So true. The Carmelo and Jordan commercial is so much better just because there is something actually going on. The Lebron commercial is just a waste of time. :/

Both Carmelo and Lebron are overated but, I'm sure they'll both be Kobe and Garnett in the future.

wtf.. it's a COMMERCIAL with a running span of probably 4-5 days at the most. Some people are too critical.. sheesh.

seriously.

i'm baffled as to how people think the commercial would be "a lot better" if it was only 24 seconds.

I've seen the commercial many times now. Is there a point to it? 😕 Or am I just not thinking like Nike Marketeers? :frown:

hehe, you haven't seen alot of Nike shoe commercials.

actually having a point or even showing the shoe isn't a top priority anymore 😉

it'd be better because at least it would make some sense. kinda like the shot clock is running and he's making everyone wait, then the last second he laughs and goes to score....or soemthing like that.

I just don't get the commercial.

The setup was looking good. But it was a big let down. What was it supposed to mean?😕

my guess: LeBron has so much hype behind him, coming into the NBA. He stops for a moment and suddenly people begin to question his worth. Some people are booing, some are rooting him on, some people think he's cracked under pressure. "All eyes are on him". When he smiles and goes, it's his way to finding the entire "hype"-thing humorous.

It means "We are NIKE and we have way too much money. We can make crap commercials and people will still buy our stuff because it has NIKE stamped on the side of it."

i think the point of the commercial is this:

look, the NBA is fixed... Lebron can hold the ball for 30 seconds and the refs won't call a shot clock violation... the scorekeepers are even in on it and won't blow the horn... welcome to a new season!

it's not that deep actually but if you've been following the lebron hype machine then you know EVERYBODY thinks he's the savior of the NBA; the next jordan. I mean this KID was hyped since his JUNIOR year in high school. That's just unheard of... everybody, including the experts, say this kid is good. Nike signs him to some crazy $70 million (IIRC) shoe deal, he's got endorsements everywhere! All before he's even set foot on a NBA court.

The Cav's believe that he can bring them to the playoffs this year, his ROOKIE year. With all the hype, and him only being 18 years old, the commerical is supposed to show what some people believe will happen (ie everybody on this board is seems). It shows him failing, him buckling under all the pressure. Then in the end of course he overcomes it and laughs it off.

Thanks, that makes sense, it won't annoy me quite so much when I see it 50x more tonight.

Worst commercial ever, next one is the one with Michael Jordan dribbing in the ball for no apparant reason.

I wear Reebok's now.
