Might want to run a ChopperFAX on it...you don't want to buy a chopper that served in Iraq and has "battle damage."

Plus, a lot of people don't change the oil often enough on those.

You are not out of your mind.

Even the rest is Bunk and no body actually bid on it. Disproves the adage that a sucker exists for every occasion.

Contrary to popular belief, the US Defense companies are not restricted to selling soely to American companies and routinely sell to foreign governments. There is a (fairly short) list of countires which defense companies are restricted from selling to, and certain arms/aircraft/etc that are restricted from export (B-2, F-117, etc) but aside from that you're golden.

I think it was pointed out, and probably correctly that this is a British-spec Apache. It's probably also not from Brittain's military, at least not most recently. Could be from one of several African countries...

Stuff like this is out there, it's just not very common and when it's traded it's usually in a more upper-class venue than eBay. There's a guy locally that owns a Hind-D.

Well the DOD doesn't just let perfectly good aircraft go on the open market as the norm, but there are a lot of decomissioned stuff that makes it to private citizens.

IIRC there are 2 F-18s in citizen ownership. Both decomissioned and stripped. Someone bought the frames and restored them to flyable status.

Ocassionally on Barnstormers.com under Warbirds you'll see things, generally older though (A4s, F5s, etc.)

A: Hi Seimens I am sure this will be ok but my man in charge of peerages, has experienced a few problems of late.Might be able to fix if funds can be deposited offshore. My other mate still has a problem with the $100 bills shipped from the Federal Bank. will keep you up to date with any developements when my man sorts out his present problems. Thanks

Q: Could you tell me if it has any anti-theft devices or remote central locking?
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Tenisballz Good question no central locking but built in safeguards you need to have the lean build of a woman the legs of a giant and the height of a dwarf (term not meant to offend)to get into the front seat, the rear seat is a little more generous. When shopping just remove the tasking hard disk.

Q: dont you think £10,000,000's a bit steep for a PayPal account?!... David.
22-Mar-06
A: Hi ramblergara The successful purchaser will only need to pay the NON REFUNDABLE Deposit of 10% the balance as previously outlined. At present I only have one bid of £10M Fancy Bidding

Q: have u got one in beige?
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Kingchill Sorry cannot accommodate your request generates TOO much trouble with the neighbours, like the guy in Cornwall with the hangar and the MDH500 it already smokes and smells like a filling station ,but keeps the neighbours in compliance when I check out the cannon using the heads up display.

Q: What is the serial number and construction number of this aircraft. Cheers
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Andrew Don't tell me you used to be a train spotter, soon as you mentioned numbers I knew I was correct. My friend took ages to develop the technique on how to spot aircraft even to this day he confuses Jet A1 with Water back to those steam loco days in York.

Q: You say you post to UK, does that mean i can have it delivered to my front door ? Thanks
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Blue Not only can it be delivered to your backdoor we can propell the back door and the house to a new location if I get the R/T switch mixed up.

Q: Can you confirm how much postage would be for special delivery to london?
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Geffen Dificult to quote my kitchen scales only go up to 850g I am on a diet.

Q: Would you consider part ex against a R22 beta
22-Mar-06
A: Hiwurze Do you not know BOB he buys loads of R22's and prints his name on the side. Unfortunately no good to me only fly turbine. Stay Safe

Q: what is the postage cost for this? will you post overseas?
22-Mar-06
A: Hi User As soon as you mention posting - problem I sold an EH101 and the Royal Mail Lost it, difficult to believe but true they lost it on a journey of ten miles. So no chance going overseas.

Q: will you swap 4 alouette 111 and 1 alouette 11 ready and armed for battle for the apache its ok will the armaments i have a shot gun certificate so it should be ok for the guns to be left on
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Biggee You have said the Magic Word, I have a shogun certificate definately covers you for the guns, but regretfully NOT the missiles yep you guess correct you need a Firearm Certificate. It is rumoured that Mr Blair proposes to have a chat with Gorden tomorrow to increase the cost of such a certificate in the budget, concerned too many are unlicenced in the UK if you fail to renew by friday you are sentenced to guard his four million town house. Risk of Missile Attacks it's rumoured. I like Swaps but they are not cleared IFR single pilot with news gathering. BOB might be interested he's got a R44 with his name on the side.If his name was blazened on the side of five more helicopters he would be Very Famous.

Q: Could you expand on what mission damaged means? Is it still flyable, or would it need completely overhauled before it could be used?
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Matthew Oh it's flyable like the A10 it flies with seventy five percent of it's parts missing has to - the remaining are on Back Order from Westland and Boeing so I have been told.

Q: Is this an example of the UK Westland version or is it a pre face lift Amercian avionics outfitted one? What MPG does it do and do you have a full service history??? Do the tires have correct tread depth on tires?
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Kevin What Tyres they are extra - currently on back order from westland I have a provisional delivery sometime 2010 in time for Christmas. Loads of avionics and pushy things - last checked out by a group of New Age travellers, they are ahead of time, they know about these things watched them at Upper Heyford whilst helping ban the bomb I believe.

Q: Is the little ladder in picture 5 included in the price or is that extra?
22-Mar-06
A: Hi chris Included in the purchase to help loading the shopping at Tesco Milton Keynes heliport.

Q: Hi, Are you interested in a part exchange with a BMW e46 coupe?
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Eboy If cheap would be good for setting up the reverse firing missile go faster packaging.

Q: Do you get any missiles with the Apache?
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Mattheg Sorry I cannot accommodate your wish this time around. I have just sold the remaining to Mr Blair he may still have them hidden away in Downing Street,Mr Bush just hearsay you understand suggested he deployed them to sort out his morgage problem then claim on the Pru for compensation. Exclaiming I was just delivering them to the MOD minister. Anyway you would have to show me your shotgun certificate to keep it all legal.

Q: can I take it for a test drive?
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Be Unfortunately NO Test Drives But you can sit on the Missile Pod

Q: Spotter here, looks like you need to check your spec it looks very much like an WAH 64 or British Army AH Mk1. What is the Battle Damage you refer to and are the steps and fire extinguisher included in the price?
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Lucy Where would the world be without the astute SPOTTER you are probably correct in your statement. The previous careful owner of this machine used it in a WARzone and totally disregarded the instruction JUST POSE AND SCARE and accidently deployed the missiles hence they tried to source spares from MDH who at the time were taking Boeing out to dinner, so the informed SPOTTER said contact Westland in the UK, but to no avail it was discovered they were just servicing back orders for the 1983 model. No alternative but to source from the battlefield. If it can bolted on then all is fine. steps and fire extinguisher included to help when you load the shopping and extinguish the odd house if you get the R/T switch mixed up with the missile GO button.

Q: would you swap for a landrover 90 and a suzuki samurai both with tax and m.o.t ?
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Pony I may be interested in purchasing your prize assets if they are cheap enough,I always need something to set the gun sights up, they realy suffer from vibration and people always moan when their residences get blown away, I say accidents do happen, don't worry that will top the conversation in the local pub.

Q: what sort of warranty do you get with this item?
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Iam No Warranty from manufacturer as there is no guarantee it has not exceeded VNE whilst seeing off a high level risk in the form of a Cessna 152 Aircraft.

Q: Hi there, A few questions. Firstly, can you describe the nature of the damage and the circumstances under which it occurred, please? Secondly, is the item still covered by the manufacturer's warranty (I understand that parts for this model can be quite pricey)? Finally, do you have any service history or past certificates of airworthiness? Many thanks.
22-Mar-06
A: Hi Now Damage is largely isolated to the horizontal stabiliser as this aircraft operated in a war zone and despite numerous instructions from it's previous owners just to pose it acidently deplored it's missiles and the go faster packaging severely peppered the stabiliser, something like a little boy with daddies four pound hammer. Easy to fix only £40,000-00 No Warranty because airframe may have been stressed in a rate two turn trying to escape the deployed missiles. Many Thanks
