I believe if you look under "Start" and find the help section it can walk you through the online registration. Not positive though.

You can recover product key from your installed Vista/XP by using this tool called Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder. Google for its download link.

How can you lose the key? It's physically attached to the dvd holder.
