Today was going pretty good till about an hour ago. My laptop decided to play the let's pretend I'm broken and scare the sh!t of the guy who paid a lot of money for me game. Tore it completely apart, cleaned everything and put it all back together and thankfully it's working. Nothing like having $2000 worth of hardware decide to mess with you.

hmmm .. I thought it was a pretty good week up to today ... when I find out my brother (who is 17, and is already on thin ice due to his excessive class failing and dope smoking), has been stealing $20 from my mother. (I also think he stole from me twice ... but I pretty much let it slide as I am sometimes careless and buy stupid things that I don't need) Now my mother doesn't have much money, and is stuck on disabillity, so I generally help out with the bills ....

Argh how terrible it is to steal from your own mother, especially if she is broke to begin with .... I guess once he gets home we will have a little "chat" and hopefully if he is lucky he will not require a trip to the emergency room or a permanant stay 6 feet under.

I think I need a beer.

On the plus side ... I'll know in 2 weeks if I got a promotion I interviewed for on Wednesday (as far as I could tell, the interview went awesome)

Actually, in most cases, taking money out of an employee's pay because of a mistake is illegal. You can fire them, but you can't make them pay for mistakes.

The attorney general takes care of stuff like this, but you'll probably lose your job over it.

Yup, bad day. Exhubby/child custody junk. Plus, none of my money has come in yet - waiting for some checks, and it's getting silly, had to give my kid lunch money from the change in the sofa cushions. Plus, I couldn't go to work because of the silliness, and I think I'm going to lose that part-time job. And then thinking about that job, plus the other PT jobs I have, I realize that:
Job 1: low pay, used to be nice people but they're not so nice anymore
Job 2: decent pay but it's mind-numbing data entry and the travel time means it's not so profitable
Job 3: did work on spec, boss decided not to pay me after all
Job 4: still great but it's only a very small job
So I have to find a new job or jobs.

Then, I was going to enjoy some leftover champagne to "celebrate" and ended up watching Apollo 13 and forgot, now I'm too tired for champagne.

Right now, I have the easiest job in the world, but today the Dieroom screwed up and I to scramble and save their ass.

Took me about 3 hrs. to fix it, but I looked like a hero.

Actually, I enjoy having something to do, but it really isn't good for the company when I'm working.

When I'm working that means the presses aren't running and we're not making making money.

Today was a beautiful day! I got Verita's Backup Exec to work with my tape robot on the Netware 6.5 server at work.

Finally.
