OK Roger, please tell why you dislike Fords so much...

Dear Roger,
Since I stole your opportunity to bash another Ford YACT I am giving you the chance to voice your concerns with Ford Motor Company vehicles. I will refrain for posting any negative comments or advise that would have made you experience better than you may explain it.

Please feel free rant about your troubles with Fords.

Other than the fact that they are unreliable have you ever seen the interior of one? Just look at the dash. Cheap plastic, fugly design that they use in all of their cars.

May take a while for Roger to post...i heard he has to get from one end of his shop to the other (where the computer is). As he is pretty old, he doesn't walk so well anymore. At least we know his hair (or lack thereof) will offer no wind resistance.

He has worked on fords and other cars much of his life and worked for a ford dealership.
I would say that his opinion is all you need.

my moms leased 03 taurus has been to the dealers 4x for a major repair. 2x for tranny problems (its fun to drive a car that shifts to neutral or down on a random occasion), one heater fan broke and one for some electrical thing that i dont recall. That was all on a car with under 10k miles

Hmm, I would say that GM cars are even worse in that respect. Dodge also.

My old mechanic wouldn't work on either my Crown Vic or my Tempo. He was also an asshole and a liar, hence the title "old mechanic."

Ford has a hit and miss history for reliability. The ones I've owned have been good cars. My Tempo ran to just past 260,000 miles, when the water pump went out, and my brother-in-law tried to drive it 18 more miles. Its gone. The Crown Vic keeps on ticking, and I just wish it would die. I hate it. Its a grandpa car (I'm 24). I beat the crap out of it, it has hail damage from 3 major storms, and the stupid thing won't rust or break down. I think its running just to spite me. 🙂

The only Ford i would be caught dead driving in is a fox body rusta, err mustang.
I don't like their trucks, I don't like their family cars. I don't like green eggs and ham.

My grandfather had 2 Fords and both lived up to the F.O.R.D. acronyms.

My old 87 Ford Taurus=160000 miles ->dead
My 86 Volvo 240 =270000 miles and still going.

How can you compare a Ford to a car that's built like a brick?
I want to see a Volvo vs SUV crash test.

Are you sure you're not talking about Russ or Harvey? 😱

Nah...they aren't around enough anymore. Gotta find someone else to tease about being old. Roger seems to take it the best, and will come back with a snappy retort. It's all in good fun. He knows it. 😀

Personally I don't like their transmissions, but my experience is from older Fords (early 90's and previous, haven't owned one since) I'm sure Roger has better technical explanation, he'll be around....

I checked out a Ford Escape the other day at a dealer and i couldnt get past how cheap the interior is. all the plastic buttons, switches and even the damn door handle was cheap, it felt like it was going to snap when i opened the door to get out.

Quix, I dislike Ford for one reason and one reason only, because it's a Ford 😛

Really, I do not care for them because of the engineers, why must they design a vehicle that is extremely easy to assemble on the line but nearly impossible to take apart easily when it's repair time.

Take the motor mounts on the Taurus/Sable for example, I had to remove the A/C compressor, radiator, mounting brackets for the accessories and then disconnect all the motor mounts, lift the engine tranny combo just to get at the front liquid filled motor mount.

Most of their engineers are 15 years behind in the execution of their design work when it comes time for repair work to be done.

Besides, Fords are ugly 😛

Edit;

I grew up in a Chevy family, hahahahahaha

Hey pyonir, I have more brains in my big toe than you have between your ears 😉
