Ok ok, I think I know what I can do with Windows Media Player..

Reformatting is obviously out of the question, so I cannot do this.

Alot of Windows Media Player files do not work, and when they do...they also seem to download to my desktop.

I dont know what happened, everything used to work...quicktime, windows media..everything..but then my brother downloaded quicktime HD and it f**ked up the windows media player and quicktime.

I have decided to re-install windows media player, since most of the files I use use this program. (Music, movies)

But, funny thing is...I cant seem to find a way to uninstall windows media player.

I went into the start menu, but there was no place to uninstall windows media player...just to delete it.

So I went into the "my computer" and went to "add or remove programs" and removed Windows Media Player. I then proceeded to delete windows media player from the start menu...and any programs that were installed on the desktop.

However, I went to open up a windows media application and it opened it up in windows media player..it was some movie trailer.

Wtf is going on??

I thought I deleted WMP, I want to uninstall it before I re-install it.

Is there another application I need to delete/uninstall that is related to WMP that I am not uninstalling??

I know reformatting seems awesome, but I really cannot do it.

Father wont let me, and I have to many programs on the computer that could never be re-installed.

Format C: before FUBAR

format C?

I wouldn't mine re-formatting, as long as I could move specific programs like Unreal Tournament and Battlefield 1942...and some digital files. (alot of digital pics on my computer..no p0rn)

Is there away I can park certain programs aside so they will not be erased??

Reformatting doesn't delete XP accounts does it??

yes, reformatting will be starting entirely from scratch. I dunno about about a formatting program that would skip over chosen files...can you back 'em up and move them to another HDD? sucks your brother fubared your comp.

I've always found that once WMP gets fubared, it's very hard to make things right without a format.

Could I maybe move certain files to my D drive?

When I reformat, does that format everything??

EDIT: My D drives seems to be my "recovery drive" and it wont let me enter it.

Can someone please help me here??
