Ok, now THAT was freaky... IE5.5 reverted to 56-bit encryption?!

So I go to my bank's site to check my balance, and it gives me a page saying I need 128-bit encryption for IE.

mechBgon: but... I have 128-bit encryption. 😕

*mechBgon checks IE Help > About Internet Exploder

Internet Exploder: Cipher strength: 56-bit. 😛 Haha!

mechBgon: :Q😕:Q

I mean, I was visiting the bank's site less than an hour ago with no problem. Freaky! :Q

edit: this is probably a sign that my CPU isn't fast enough. Isn't it. Someone agree with me so I can upgrade 😀

yeah you'll need at least a dual-xp system to get that 128-bit encryption 😉
Ok, sweet 😀 Would a single Opteron be an option, if the mobos get here soon? 😉

Right, I better make it a dualie then. Don't want my bank balance info falling into the wrong hands.

And what better way to do that than to get rid of the balance completey =)
Exactly! 😀

Darn it, I went to Windows Update and reinstalled all the pertinent IE5.5 stuff and rebooted, and IE still says it's got 56-bit encryption (but now I can log onto the bank's site again 😕 ). I'm thinkin' it's time for the ol' Format C: routine this weekend 😛

yeesh. *cough* yet another reason to avoid IE.

... and upgrade your obviously outdated hardware! c'mon! don't forget you need lots of RAM in that thing, too. 😉
