Ok now that I have my 9500pro...

I ran every game that I have...well almost after I installed the 3.1 cats, and cntrl panel. Everything runs fine with quality settings... AA, and AF.

Mohaa, BF, 2K3 all look amazing. Only game that doesn't look much different is Commanche4. My guess is the 1600 is holding me back some.

Anyhow, my question is should I try the bios hack to unlock the card so I can overclock? I enabled truform, but what about the compatability settings with Z-buffer in the cntl panel? Anyone with suggestions of input of what settings I should be running would be much appreciated.

I've tried mine with all the games you mentioned and they all look spectacular. I have Commanche4 too and just like you said i didnt notice much difference in it from my old 7500. then again that game is a bit old and novalogic's graphics engines aren't the most stunning (ex. delta force genre and their other flight sims). and Commanche is more cpu bound than vpu but your current processor shouldn't be holding you back. mine is a 1600+ and gives very playable frame rates. and not all games are programmed to utilize the truform function. on ati's website they have some games they tested on the 9x00 series of cards and very few of those games were compatible with truform. and for hacking and overclocking it, i dont think that's going to make a difference in the image quality. it should give you a little performance gain but that's about it. if you like racing, try Need 4 Speed Hot Pursuit 2. this game has some awesome eye candy at max settings with AA and AF. i'm going to go play it right now!
