So heres the deal. I recently built a new PC, put it together Wednesday or Thursday last week.

Heres the specs
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-965P-S3
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 Conroe 2.13GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775
Video card: FOXCONN 8600GTS-256 OC720/2260
Power Supply: APEX|SL-D460EXP 460W RT
OS: Win XP

For normal stuff it runs like a champ. It plays Doom3 like a monster. Love it. Thats where the goodness ends.

The following games have problems, virtually the same.

Warcraft 3
Starcraft
Star Wars Republic Commando
Star Wars Empire at War

The problems range from flat out crashing to desktop to messed up textures. With Republic Commando it drops right to desktop trying to load the first level. I got it to finally load by setting the bump mapping quality to low, but it still occasionally messes up the texture and looks all funny. Thats the same problem I have with the other listed games.

I can still see the units fine, but the background (Be it the land, or walls or whatever) just looks messed up, and it often times affects the menus as well.

I've messed around with most of the in game settings, and at this point the card setting are set to either low, off or app controlled for virtually every thing.

To be specific...
Anistropic Filtering - Off
Antialiasing - Gamma Correction - Off
Antialiasing - Mode - App controlled
Antialiasing - Transparency - Off
Conformant texture clamp - Off
Error reporting - Off
Externsion limit - Off
Force minimaps - None
Mutli-Display - Compatibility performance mode
Texture filter - Anisotropic sampe - Off
Texture filter - Negative LOD - Allow
Texture filter - Quality - Performance
Texture filter - Trilinear - On
Threaded Optimization - Off
Triple buffering - Off
Vert Sync - 3D App setting

I've tried the supplied drivers, the Foxconn 158.22 drivers and the Foxconn 162.18 drivers

Due to the fact Doom 3 runs like a champ without ANY glitches I dont think its power or heat related.

But damned if I can figure out what the graphic error are in the other games.

I did try to Alt - Tab ouit of Star Wars Empire at War when I had the errors, and when I maximized it again it looked perfect. Havent had a chance to try that with the other games yet though as that was a spur of the moment idea.

So, any suggestions? What the hell is going on with my video card??
