Well for some reason asking "you ok with kissing on the first date?" sounds better than "can I kiss you?"

The former makes the guy sound like hes experienced with dating and he knows what hes doing and just wants to make sure his date is ok with it, the latter makes it sound like the guy is I err dunno.
