I rented Castaway the other night watched it, and to be quite truthful didnt think it was all that.

Now my issue with it is....why was the box (the box at the end) in the plane to start with? If the final destination for the box was Texas, and the plane was flying over the South Pacific, ostensibly leaving from Memphis where the guy lived, did they forget to land in Texas and drop it off? Did I miss something?

Everyone who goes ahead and posts......There is no maybe about it, you are stoopid.....will receive a :p for their firm grasp of the obvious joke. :p

The package was sent to her husband in Russia (at the beginning of the movie). He was returning the package, hence the Elvis song at the beginning, Return To Sender.

Humm... Yeah, I though he was doing a strange sort of return to sender. Now that I think about it I am not real sure. What'da'ya expect it's a movie after all.

So you are saying that the package was received by the hubby...sent back to her....went to Memphis from Russia....and was now heading across the South Pacific....to get back to her?

Yeah the movie was only mediocre, but Tom Hanks was incredible. Give the guy a fvckin oscar for that one, he deserves it more than anyone I've seen in any movie in the past few years. Matter of fact, I think it's the best performance by any actor I've seen since Forrest Gump.....hmmmm....
