Ok I've narrowed it down, Max Payne or Return to Castle Wolfstein

RCTW is pretty fun online.
MP doesn't really have much replay value, or at least I don't think so.
But this post is too late since you've already decided anyway.

I'd like to add a vote for RtCW as well. The single player is nothing new, but it looks great and the level designs are varied and cool. The multiplayer is phenomenal fun if you can find a decent server where people play seriously.

RTCW is really good. I thought the underground cavern area was creepy, freaked me out many times.. play it in the dark with headset on <aahhhhhhh!>

Well, guess i'm the minority here but I thought Payne was far superior, at least in terms of visuals and single-player play. I have not played RTCW multiplayer yet so I can't comment on that.

one problem i have with max payne is that its short. two nights and your done.
replay value is not so spectacular either, unless you really love that bullet time
sequence. wolfenstein is better imho.

and all the enemies in max payne are about the same. well, then again, so are most of the castle wolfenstein enemies, more or less. I still think RTCW has the edge, but both are incredible games.

I like the grittier feel of RTCW. And Max Payne makes me much more nauseous than RTCW does!

They're both really, really good, but I would probably prefer Max Payne for gameplay, but RTCW for graphics.

Max Payne is top notch all the way. It goes beyond a "game", it's an adventure, an experience. The storyline is the driving force of the game. Features like bullet-time and the special effects are bonuses too. It all comes together into an experience that's greater than the sum of it's parts.

RTCW is a great game and is very fun to play. For some reason, RTCW is more "fun" to play than Max Payne. But for me, RTCW is in the same league as Serious Sam. Fun to play, cool looking, but not very engrossing on the whole. One way I judge this is by how easy it is to get up from the game. RTCW is not hard to save and walk away from. With Max Payne, I lost track of time on several occasions and was only finally pulled from the computer by my hunger or by extreme sleep deprivation.

In other words, they are both great. It just depends upon what your looking for.
