I have vista 64 installed. I read were Itunes wont work on vista.
My problem is I gave my wife a Ipod 2 years agao and so I now I hope there is a way around this.
Is there any software out there that can work with a Ipod othere than Itunes and will also work on Vista 64bit

some people say it works...did you try it?

if you mean copy files to the ipid, ephpod will work. musicmatch works also.

there are several itunes like music buying services out there.

I tried Anapod Explorer. It was alright but I pwned myself pretty bad with it.

I renamed all of my tunes and added in the info, ie. Album, year, etc... on a backup computer.

When I plugged it back into the other computer, iTunes started up and removed all of my changes :(

It definitely didn't work correctly until very recently, but I have no trouble with it and my iPod anymore. The most recent iTunes update coupled with the most recent iPod update (1.3.1 I think?) fixed all my iTunes issues in Vista64...except for my failed motherboard.

The thing that I did enjoy about Anapod was the GUI. It is basically the same as a window in Windows Explorer and features drag and drop functionality. It was recommended to me on another forum (TFNN) by a friend.

I've been using Sharepod for a while now, but I've never tried it on Vista, and god knows if it works under Vista 64.

Just try Itunes. Otherwise, winamp is a very good all-in-one package. The interface is kind of similar to itunes too. Although it, nor any other 3rd party program, wont play any songs bought from itunes.

I'm not sure if it will work with Vista, but you can always give it a shot - Ephpod. It's freeware and works very well. I never installed itunes.
