Ok, I'm stumped: Monitor #2 and it still is resizing. Is it maybe my vid card or...

I picked up a 21" IBM P260 a month or so ago after my SyncMaster died. The IBM appeared to have a problem that after I turned off the monitor for a period of time, it would be misaligned after turning it back on (shifted and/or resized). I posted on a couple of forums and read through some monitor repair FAQs and I was sure that there was a problem with the monitor's power supply or high voltage regulation.

The place I purchased it from, couldn't find anything wrong with it, but sent me a different one anyways, which I received yesterday. I let it warm up for over an hour before initial calibration and then let it sit for a couple hours with the new settings after aligning it. However, I turned it off over night and when I woke up and turned it on, it resized :(

One other thing that I noticed with this monitor that wasn't present on the other one is there is a light green hue that lines the lower right corner of my taskbar under the system tray. It looks a little like it is glowing. If I shift the image on the monitor up, it still glows until it moves up a couple of inches. When I shift the image down, nothing else glows in that area.

I'm using a GeForce Ti4400 and I'm running it at 1600x1200 @ 85hz. The only other thing I could think of is that maybe there is some sort of electrical problem in my house.

Alright, I hooked it up to my laptop and I had the same problem after turning off the monitor.

^ Agreed

If the monitor has a Degauss button, use that when you see the green and see if that has any effect. Also, I had a similar alignment problem with an old NEC monitor, it would resize/reposition a few seconds after I had adjusted it. If you can't resolve the problem to magnetic interference, try plugging the monitor into a different outlet, or plugging it into a surge protector, or plugging the surge protector into a different outlet.

I have a NEC diamondtron and when I first start it up it's a little off alignment. But after about 20-30 mins it centers again perfectly. Have you tried waiting to see if it centers itself?
