It came out from behind the picture, i freaked again and chucked my shoe at it. Its now dead behind my desk. BIG NASTY FVKER

Just remember it's never just one.

Oh, and remember to sleep with your mouth closed, and probably some ear protection (just in case)

shudders... yuck.

For that matter, might want to keep your anus closed as well. And perhaps also your peehole, for the little baby ones. That's what Staples has to do.

I have tons of them in my house. I was scared of them when I was little but I learned to live with them.

Anyway, I usually don't kill them because it isn't worth the trouble but when I see 1) matting roaches or 2) a female roach about to lay an egg 3) If they are flying around 4) If I can identify the female doing an matting call I will kill them.

Yesterday there was a roach in my shower about to lay an eye. I wacked it and threw the egg down the toilet.

HOW DO YOU LIVE LIKE THAT?????????

This almost sounds like shens.

If not:

That is so fvcking gross. I would burn that place down and move to the Yukon or Alaska or some other place too cold for nasty-ass fvcking bugs. :|

Seriously, if I saw a roach LAYING AN EGG anywhere I would lose my lunch and every other meal from the past week.

you'd be surprised what people get used to. I met a female off the internet, went to her appartment. She lived right on an alley, and had TONS of roaches. I mean, uhh I didn't count them all, but I saw at least 4 big ones and a bunch of babies in her room. I pointed a few out having no idea they didn't bother her much. She put on her bunny slipper and casually smooshed one against the wall, another got away, she sat down and sayd "oh well"
she was beautiful, but I wanted the fvck out of there. I know what they say about if you see one roach there's dozens more somewhere near. After seeing all them in her room alone I couldn't imagine how many more were around her pad.

1. Mix boric acid powder with corn/wheat flour in 1:1 ratio.
2. Add a little sugar, then mix in water until it becomes a thick dough.
3. Make small balls out of this stuff and stick in dark corners.
4. Wait....
5. Profit!

You are the insectologist...but I couldn't stand to see them day in and day out, that is so gross.

Most insect sprays kill roaches pretty easily. When I lived in an alley way apartment I got a spray bottle and killed the few I saw. Just use a wad of toilet paper to pick the thing up.

lol

But seriously, if you get roaches somewhat frequently and need a way to clean them up after you kill them, get one of those canister vac's with the bags. Just suck em up and throw the bag away later. Also, Boric Acid works very well for getting rid of them.
I just went through a roach problem in my new apartment, it is getting better but I still see them here and there.

Good luck
This year has been terrible though. It has been matting season all damn year around. Almost every night I walk into the kitchen and find at least 10 roaches flying around because someone did the matting call. That is the reason this year I actually tried to get rid of them.

Honestly I thought you were joking in your first post, now I'm not so sure.
I wasnt aware that roaches did 'matting calls'. And what does one such matting call look/sound like? Also, about killing the roach in the shower and thowing the egg away, how big was the egg anyway? I figured roach eggs would be too small to really even see.

Roach eggs are 8mm long or so. They are not small. Never seen one hatch before but I have seen a picture and there are something like 10 babies in it. That is why it is good to get rid of these things.

As far as the matting call, I really am taking a guess here but I imagine that is what it is. It always seems to end with matting so there is where I draw my conclusion from. Anyway, one roach comes out and starts running around like crazy - this is assumably the female and the matting call. There is no smell and roaches don't make any noise except for the landing noise or the flickering of their wings. After about 3 minutes of running around, all the other roaches nearby will come out running and flying around. It is annoying because the roaches seems quite bold and won't go back into hiding lilke usual if you turn bright lights on.

These roaches rarely ever run around unless they are running from a preditor so whenever I see a lone roach running around the walls like crazy, I just assume it is a female roach looking for some action. I promptly kill it or at least spay it with some ammonia based cleaner. It won't kill them but they hate it and they will settle down very quickly once you spray them.

I have lived with American roaches so long that I have gotten to observe and learn many of their behavior patterns.

lets say this is true, why don't you just bug bomb the whole house?
