hey guys i think im done OCing for the moment. IF i dont stop trying to do things to OC i think i might fry something(i have tried just about everything on the forums)..but here are my final results....hopefully..unless i find out something new

opteron 165 @ 2.54ghz 1.44v ( 31 idle, 48 load)

OCZ plat pc3200 @ 229mhz 2.5/2/3/5

7800gt @ 495/1100

I guess not a bad OC after all. Everything is stable an running smooth. I can go up to 2.6 but its not stable even at 1.55volts , it benches at 2.6 however the results arent that much better than it at 2.5. So over all im happy with my chip . great buy! i guess its between a x2 4800 and a Fx-60. :) Comments?

WTF ,, ur not done.. Do a little burn in with what u got now.. And if ur using platinum rev 2, 229 is NO where near it's potential...

If u got TCC5 ,, u need 2.9v for ram
If u got TCCD (v1.0), u only need 2.7-2.8 to hit AT least DDR 300.

turn you timings down on your ram and use the 1:2 divider and see how high you can get the cpu stable with 1.45 volts

ok
400= 1/1
333 = 333/400
266 = 266/400

What is ur exact RAM ,, and if it's platinum revision 2 ,, which version do u have.. 1.1 or 1.0 or No label which indicates also 1.0

ok for testing sake use 200 and cas 3 timings. When we finish we will have your ram running above stock speeds. Remmeber CPU mhz is much more important than ram mhz.

read the little sticker on ur Ram,, type out the exact words... ON THE BOTTOM right corner of the sticker,, there should be a v1.1 or v1.0 or ABSOLUTELY nothing,, BOTH v1.0 and ABSOLUTELY nothing would indicate VERSION OF THE NUMBER.. IF ASSUMING THIS IS PLATINUM REVISION 2

V1.0 + abso nothing = TCCD 2.73v-2.8v
V1.1 = TCC5 2.93-2.98v

REDUCE ur HTT multiplier to 3, make sure it's not over 1000 or else it will likely not boot... though if u had an ultra d i'm running 4x283 perfect stable.

It matters to me!

I plan on oc'ing my Opty 165, and based on his information, I could do a comparison. However, I need to know what yields I get on watercooling. If he's using aircooling, then I cannot use this information.

Alrighty then let me know how that goes. By the way he is not using watercooling....just call it a hunch.
