Well you can see how this was believable from Republlicans since they are the only party attempting to control reproductive rights.

I disagree with the bolded statement, it's not about control. Those folks believe that abortion is killing a baby. Your opinion is different, that doesn't make them wrong, stupid, or evil, it just means they have a different opinion.

If it's not about control then why do so many anti-abortion bills have exceptions for rape? If abortion is killing a baby that exception makes no sense.

That's true. Two wrongs don't make a right. But if I had to guess, I'd say the rape exception is to make the bill a little more palatable and to nullify the first objection that's always raised against such legislation.

Not to mention that whenever someone says they think a fetus is a baby like any other they are obviously lying or are a psychopath. After all we all know if a normal human had the ability to save a million fertilized embryos (babies!) or one actual baby everyone would save the actual baby.
