I just had my first 50 kill round in MTD. The next closest was 9 kills, then on down from there. Somehow I am on fire on Showdown and Countdown, but can really suck ass on many of the others.

After the game, some kid was like 'Dude... WTF' :beer:

Someone buy this game from me, i spend way too much time on it.
 
how many days played do you have? that is ridiculous. were they all noobs? how did you pwn them so bad? are you that 1337?
 
I play COD4 rather excessively, too. I probably log an hour a day when I should be working or studying. My typical round is between 25:5 and 35:10. It's nuts. I've never broken 50, though breaking 40 happens once or twice a session.

The game is just so damn good. I enjoy it every bit today as I did the day I got access to the beta in August '07.
 
My COD4 playtime dropped a lot once battlefield: BC came out, but I still would like to play it some more. i think I might have had somewhere around 15 days worth in it? I'm not sure..

Bloc is by far the worst COD4 map...
Most of the rest are fine though.

 
I agree on Bloc sucking, you basically have to stay inside the two buildings to not get your ass shot off, which eliminates a huge area of play. I am actually a big fan of Showdown/Countdown.

creek and broadcast are fairly terrible.
 
Are you sure you weren't host? During the beta the game kept on giving host to me and my friend, who live in the same house..and apparently everyone else would lag. They didn't complain about it for a while (must've been common in the beta? I don't know) but we eventually caught on after hearing enough conversations. At least one of us would get at least 30 kills each round; usually both of us were close.

Once we figured out what was going on though it felt like cheating so we stopped playing. Luckily it didn't happen in the retail version.
 
One of the best games ever. I play at least once every other day. Online tho as I have done every possible thing in SP mode on the PC and the 360.

Absolutely not, and it's CoD:World at War... they specifically made sure it was NOT called CoD 5. Only the CoD made by the producers of CoD4 will be numbered.

I'm in the W@W beta, and it's pretty bad. It's weird as they just copied and pasted CoD4 multiplayer into WW2, but the weapons are poor as are the map designs and sound. I won't be getting it.
 
You should give CoD4 a go if you're looking for a decent online shooter. It's better than W@W in every way.

How much are extra maps? Like in Halo...

Getting it used is fine. I'm not sure what the GOTY has that the original doesn't. I have the original and it's great. I'm not exactly sure how much the maps are... I believe 800 pts. Either way I don't think the extra maps are that worth it. They rarely come up so I don't think many have them.
 
IIRC the GOTY comes with a code for the map pack so its pretty much free. I would bet if you picked up the GOTY used the code would already be used though. I say the game is still worth it though. It is my favorite game on the 360. The W@W doesn't even come close to the great fun factor that COD4 brings to the table. I was really hoping they would bring out some new maps for COD4, but I doubt they will ever do it now that W@W is so close. They don't want to take any attention away from their holiday sales. Its too bad really I thought they said they were gonna take maps from their map making contest and release them in a pack for consoles and the PC.
