I think you should make a project and learn how to fix it up, its really not that hard! All the information you need to fix it is online, even buying parts!

But if you really gonna let it go for 2k then PM. I will talk it over my friend, because we pick up cars and fix it all the time.

If you do, I'm serious about it....the title is in my hand...clean title too.

Then you could piece out the body pieces to people who were interested. If you're heavily into rebuilding cars and what not, I'd just buy it back from the insurance for probably under a grand and get started on getting that bad boy fixed. I love that year Si 99-00. Those things are sweet. Sorry for your loss.

You don't have insurance on the car? What's the story with that?

Ok if you didn't go through your insurance but just recovered the car yourself, I would just go ahead and part the car and get rid of it. Buy something that thieves don't look for and get on with life. Otherwise, look into my advice about rebuilding it from the bottom up. It's going to take a lot of time and money to rebuild that car from the ground up especially with the shape it's in now.

Its my TOTAL LOSS.
I have the car in my possession.
Wondering what to do with it.

Also just to get it to run properly (I don't know if you mean legally (fixing the broken glass etc)) then I would say a head for that car is roughly around $500-800 dollars. I don't know what other parts are missing from your engine just by looking at that. But the estimate that your mechanic gave is you a pretty good estimate to get it back into running shape (legal).

Nope. I don't live near orlando, but it's not like i never went to florida and pickup a non running car before :D The only difference is back then i didn't own a shop, now i do. So time is very limited. But since i know where you at now, my main problem is it worth taking time off spending the extra money on top of the 2k to get it back to minnesota.
If you really serious about it, then let me think about my options and let you know by monday night okay?

You should fix it. Almost all of that stuff can be replaced easily. Basically plug and play. If you can put a computer together you can easily replace most of that stuff. Just plug in the wiring harnesses and screw the stuff in. The only thing that might be difficult is replacing the cams. Try to find a friend who knows something about cars who can help you out. If not you could always pay some to fix the engine. Everything else you should be able to fix.

doesnt your insurance cover for the repairs, in this case it may be a write off since alot of parts are missing.

Mine didn't have the engine, trans or the rear axle when I got ahold of it. I ixed it because it was my truck damnit, not because it was worth fixing. It being mine made it worth fixing.

I am not going to answer because I refuse to do that to someone who had their car stripped.

Have a little sympathy.

BTW, anything that was taken, I've shown in the pictures.
Beside wires being cut, belts here and there.....nothing else is missing.

First off, can you link me to where I can buy the parts for the engine ??
The cams and pistons that you're talking about ????

All the comestic I don't care about, I just want the engine to start running first.
What is the minimum that I need ??

Cams and pistons ??
Valve cover ??
Belts ??
Air intake ??
Do I need the radiator right away ??
Do I need the ECU ??
Do I need the gauge cluster ??

Umm well you're not missing your pistions. lol. You will need new cams and a new valve cover and timing belt. You definitely need the ECU otherwise the engne won't run at all and yes you need to replace the radiator. The car may run without the gauge cluster but I wouldn't drive it around like that.

edit: and for parts try ebay. I got a new power steering pump from there for $35.

So are you saying I just need the
ECU
Cames and valve cover
Timing belt
and radiator

Just to get the engine revving and maybe drive it in a circle ??

All the cosmetic stuff I can take care off.

The most I've ever done with the car was I installed the springs and that was easy but much longer than I thought.

They stole your cams dude!
Why-oh-why did they bother taking the instrument cluster?
Maybe they ripped the ECU from under the glove compartment?

glad to know that you gonna try to fix it. if you need parts like ecu, camshaft, valve cover, cams pulley, etc.. let me know, because i might could get used one for ya.

edited: and yea ebay got lots of stuff for cheap, but be careful who you buy stuff from!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/B16-cyli...itemZ8004861791QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

all you need for your engine head, could either just swap that or just take whats needed. because it might be hard to find all hardware needed to bolt down the camshaft.

Well looking at the pic again you'll also need to replace the intake piping and MAF (mass airflow sensor) too. You don't really need anything special for the piping. You could probably come up with something yourself if you wanted to and just get a generic cone filter. However what's important is the MAF. It was likely taken along with the intake. It needs to be positioned somewhere between the filter and the intake manifold. Basically what it does is tell the engine computer how much air is comming in to adjust fuel accordingly.

I was looking at the ebay auction someone posted with the head and from the pictures it looks like there is something on top of the cams to hold them in place. I'm not sure what that's called though so maybe someone else could chime in but you'll need that too. You'll also need the cam gears along with the cams. You may have to get them seperately. Depending on how many miles you have on the car it might actually be beneficial to buy that head off ebay and just replace the whole thing. However if you're looking to save as much money as possible don't bother. You may need to get some of the parts from a junk yard though.

Also it looks like your timing belt is still there. I'd replace it anyway though. Even if it was changed reciently who knows how they took it off. They may have damaged it. You can usually pick them up for less than $50.

If you need anymore help PM me. I can try and walk you through it once you get all the parts. That only thing that might be hard is putting the timing belt back on. If it's on incorrectly you gotta take it apart again. It's a pain. It'd probably be a good idea to get a repair manual for your car and read it over. They are usually quite helpful, especially if you're not that familar with the engine.
