Ok guys, some old arcade video game help needed in here please....

ok ok my turn, i haven't been able to find this game anywhere. i'm pretty sure it came out around the mid 80's. i'm not sure but i think i remember operation wolf being in the arcade too. basically it was a side scrolling game and you where a knight. you where able to pickup weapons and pieces for your armor when you moved around. if you where hit by anything a piece of your armor would fall off leaving you vulnerable. Also when you picked up a shield and moved your controller up and down quickly a full size shield would appear infront of you preventing anything from hitting you. when you attacked people you had to knock off pieces of their armor so you can stab them with your sword.

hmm, are you sure the guy isn't a gladiator?

could have been, memory is sort of vague. Either way he had armor that you can knock off.

Sounds like Gladiator to me.

I was also a big fan of Super Dodgeball which was adequately remade for NES but still pales in comparison to the original arcade game.

You can get the '02 version of Gaunlet for the XBox. My wife, son and I played it a few weeks ago.
